Sophilicity

Oh my, it's actually been a week since I attended this meetup, yet it feels like it was just yesterday where everyone was jamming to Korean songs, freestyle and whatnot.

Where do I even start? To be honest, there's been quite a few events going on this month, so I've been contemplating which events to attend and which to give a miss. It doesn't help now that I technically have two jobs... Oh my... But anyways, I was deciding between two events for this day. One being the Ice Cream Festival located at Lumpy Hill Adventure Playground, and the other being the Inspire Me Korea Summer Meetup. In the end, I decided on the Inspire Me Korea Summer Meetup - And I definitely don't regret it!

So the day started off with some Korean BBQ. I went to grab some lunch at Super KBBQ with John (you might recognise him from FUSI8N).

Korean BBQ today before attending the Inspire Me Korea Summer Meet Up 😁 Samyeopsal and Beef Bulggogi ✌🏼️

As for us two, well whenever we meet (which is rarely) we end up always sharing our meals - Cheap Asian life... And what's better, because we were attending the Inspire Me Korea event, we managed to get a 20% off discount between 12-2PM for food. So we decided to order a Korean BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch costs 14.50 for a choice of one type of meat, however if you want an additional choice then you can pay an extra £5 for another. We chose to get an additional type, picking the Samyeopsal (Pork Belly) and Beef Bulgogi. In total that costed us £19.50, and due to the 20% off discount, we only paid £7.80 each.

Personally, I didn't feel very full after the meal although the meat was good. They provide you with salad and a rice bowl with the meal, but I didn't think there was enough meat in comparison to other KBBQ places I've been to which offer more for the same price. It was interesting to be able to cook our meat though, everyone including us was very lost on how long we had to cook it so we didn't get food poisoning... Oh dear.. We survived though!

I wish I bought more to be honest, but I want to try other foods too if I have a chance to come again! The atmosphere is really good, and as the restaurant recently just opened in St Giles (located near Tottenham Court Road) the aesthetic was very modernised. You guys can check out the Lunch Menu here, as well as the rest of their website.

Moving onto the actual Inspire Me Korea Summer Meetup. We entered the basement where we collected our own Inspire Me Korea sticker, along with a raffle for later. I got the number "11" for my raffle ticket. We began to sit down, and I went to socialise with some old friends as well as some new ones just from discussing Karaoke songs. It was quite difficult to find songs without knowing any hangul, so we didn't get a chance to sing much - Everyone basically sang the English lyrics which came up during a K-Pop song aha... And I remember the GOT7 marathon of songs - Oh my...

We then proceeded to turn out attention to our hosts of the event, Diana (the founder of Inspire Me Korea) and her sister, Alice. We started off the afternoon with an ice breaker activity, where we were given a sheet with boxes on it, where you were required to talk to different people and put down their name if they did any of the things stated in the boxes. You weren't allowed to put the same name twice. I started off by talking to those around me before proceeding to get up and talk to others around me.

Unfortunately, I was missing a couple of boxes, before a winner was announced. The winner of the icebreaker shouting "Inspire Me Korea" first was Ramin. He began to list who he had put for each of the boxes. One of the boxes mentioned someone who is able to sing the chorus of a K-pop song, and for his sheet, he mentioned Nicole. This led to her being made to sing a chorus, in which she tried hard to avoid it but in the end did a great job in singing Taeyang's Eyes, Nose, Lips. Well done Nicole!

For winning the icebreaker, Ramin received a prize of an "Inspire Me Korea" subscription box. The first winner for the day. The following activity was a team activity where we split in groups of about 7-8 members (although additional members were added later, due to late attendees). We had a range of names, one group was called The Winners, ours was called GOT7 (aha we named it after the K-Pop group because there was 7 of us, later becoming 8 which didn't work out as well... oh well aha), another was called 9 Wonders etc.

The aim of the game is basically you are given a word (for us, the word was related to Korea) and the first person in the line, is to draw what they saw for the word, and the following person looks at their picture and draws it (whilst considering what the word may be). As each following person does the same thing, till at the end the person who stands last has to guess what the word may be based off the picture. You win a point for each word you get correct. Then the person at the front moves to the back and it continues. We got all our words correct despite our very interesting drawings...

There was a draw between two teams. One of which was our team GOT7! Unfortunately because of the draw, this lead to an intense game of rock paper scissors, or in Korean, 가위 바위 보 (Gawi Bawi Bo). Our leader, Sarah (JB Leader-nim - I joke) competed against YASSSS's leader, giving us the win! The girls won the "Dress Code" masks, ranging from black to blue to red to yellow to violet. I won myself a "Dress Code Blue" mask. Whilst the guys won themselves snacks.

We moved onto the next activity. This is where our personal talents were involved. For each of the different K-Pop albums to be won, ranging from PSY to Boyfriend to MBLAQ, we competed in singing/dancing for the prizes. The winner was the one with the most cheers after each round for each album.

For the first song, people competed for PSY's 7th Album. It was a dance competition for this round. The participants were Hung, Nathan, Nicole and Sarah. They competed in dance with the song "Gentleman". If you haven't heard of the song, or watched the MV before, check it out below:

It was a great laugh watching everyone compete for the album. Everyone seems to only know of the chorus - I mean I can't exactly dance very well to be saying anything, and I'd probably only know the chorus myself... But who do you think won?

... The winner of the round, was Nicole! She is also a dancer for the group, Ujjn. Check them out! She did a great job, and received the most cheers from the audience, winning PSY's 7th album.

For the next round, we had participants compete for the Boyfriend album. However... No one seemed to know any Boyfriend choreography or lyrics so Diana decided that people could choose a GOT7 song to compete for. We had a range of songs in which people competed for. One was GOT7's Just Right performed by Hung and Nichelle. Check out their performance below:

Followed by a performance by Stevie and Ramin. You may recognise Stevie as KpopSteve on YouTube. They performed GOT7' Girls Girls Girls. We also had another performance from John (of FUSI8N) who performed BTS' Fire. Originally he was planning to perform GOT7's Fly however due to the rights not being obtained for their new song, he resorted to BTS' Fire. As soon as the song started, many of the attendees ended up joining in with the dance which made a lot more entertaining. Check out their performance below:

For the final album to giveaway, we had an MBLAQ album. I decided to go for it since it was the last round, and was the first and only singing contestant for the activity... RIP. But before I performed, we had a few dance entrants. Jahliss and Nicole decided to perform Teen Top's Rocking - I think what is most difficult about this dance, is the tutting and quick step... Well for me anyways. But they both did it incredibly well, I highly praise them for it. Check out their performance below:

This was then followed by a performance of 4MINUTE's Hate. Here we had two members of Ujjn (Nicole and Lily) as well as Tosin, with Nathan on the side aha. Check out their performance below:

I performed last so I decided to perform what I knew best, which was G-Dragon's That XX - I realised there was explicit language in this, and I performed it uncensored... Oops. I missed the beginning of the song but managed to jump right in the song luckily... It was so embarrassing, haven't performed for a while aha. It was reassuring when I heard the cheers after my performance, and surprisingly, I actually won! Thanks to everyone for the support.

I actually have a video which Jahliss decided to film - I didn't tell her how to use my camera because I didn't want her to film so I'm not gonna show the video either mwahahaha... I think what surprised people the most was when I started the rap - It's quite interesting seeing people's reactions aha! I've got to say this will always be one of my favourite songs. You can check out the original MV below:

For our final activity. We went back to our teams for a pub quiz. The quiz incorporated different elements of Korea from TV shows, to naming Korean items, K-Pop and more. For those who had attended Korea, already had an upper hand of knowing some of the answers. We were relying on our leader, Shari for her fast reactions. When a team knew the answer to a question, the team leader had to put up their hand, and the one with their hands up first got a chance to answer the question.

We all looked towards the screen, attempting to answer the questions before we finally found a winner. The winners for the pub quiz were the 9 Wonders. Similarly to GOT7, the girls received face masks whilst the boys received snacks.

Before the day ended, Diana wanted to share with us a presentation about Inspire Me Korea. For some of you who don't know already. Inspire Me Korea is a subscription box service which provides goods "inspired by Korea". The incorporate beauty elements, K-Pop items, snacks and more into their boxes.

One thing is for sure, you definitely need to check out their promotion video, it's super cute and I love their little mascot for the promotion video. It has definitely made me want to subscribe - And hopefully I'll be subscribing soon when payday comes! Check out the promo video below:

Diana always thanked all the sponsors who helped her with the event. From SuperStar BBQ, to Devada, to H-Mart to Panda Eyes. They all contributed to prizes and more to the event. Before we finished for the day, we had the raffle. Everyone started to pull out their raffle tickets. You were also able to receive more raffle tickets through making purchases of K-Pop items available to the side.

The prizes for the raffle ranged from beauty bags from Devada, to face masks and more. I managed to win myself a beauty bag with my raffle. I think I was quite lucky that day aha! You can check out all the prizes I won last week below:

All the prizes I won from yesterday's Inspire Me Korea Summer Meetup event 💕 Thank you so much @inspiremekorea for hosting an amazing event! I had lots of fun ☺️ 1. Won the Dress Code Blue face mask for a drawing game with my Team, GOT7 😂 2. Won the MBLAQ album with my singing rendition of That XX - aye G-Dragon! 3. Won the beauty pack, sponsored by @MsDevada, through my winning raffle ticket, No. 11 ✨

Once our hosts left, we ended up doing a bit of karaoke before the place got rather lively. From freestyle performances to sexy concepts, I can totally say it escalated to the extent where it felt like it was an 18+ event... Oh my... You can check out what we got up to in the playlist below:

I definitely had a lot of fun at the event. It was a great event to socialise with people, and with people with similar interests. I look forward to attending the next Inspire Me Korea meetup. For now, don't forget to check out Inspire Me Korea at all their links below:

Thanks to everyone who helped me retrace my memory with this event despite being a week ago... I had some awkward memory gaps here and there but I remembered eventually. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, it is quite a long one, but I should have some interesting travel posts to update you soon! Thanks for reading!

So I've been trying to venture out a bit more since living in the outskirts of London. I'm currently 18 and the cost of travel is going to increase as of September so I'm trying to make the most of my travel expenses as they are cheap in comparison to adult costs - plus free bus travel woo!

So my friend, Jessie and I have been trying to plan out days in London as well as around our area to explore and try out. This may range from food, to exploration days such as playing real life Monopoly, or visiting cool locations and more. Another personal reason behind this is because a lot of my college friends will be heading off to university as of September/October whilst I decided upon a gap year. So because of this, I wanted to try spend as much time with my college friends before they leave for higher education, Jessie being one of them. Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to see each other much during our school year, since we used to attend Maths class together, but I dropped Maths after AS and she continued and we had conflicting timetables so we never saw each other because most of the time we would be in and out of college.

But enough of all this personal business, let's continue onto the topic of our new adventure of the day! We started off heading towards our first stop of day, which was the Draughts cafe. The Draughts cafe is said to be the first board game cafe in London, and we had been meaning to go there for quite some time.

As we worked our way from Haggerston station, we arrived at the cafe to be welcomed by one of the workers who told us to sit wherever we liked before he brought us some menus. We opted for a strawberry soda, apple juice and homemade hummus, served with toasted artisan bread.

As we were waiting for our food to arrive, we decided to go and explore the cafe, deciding upon what games we should begin playing first. We decided Connect 4 (ayee a classic for ya), Scrabble (another classic of course!), Gravity Maze (something new for us) and Camel Cup Super Up (which looked interesting... seemed fun).

We first selected Connect 4 to play, thought we'd go for an easy game first, and I thought I had totally won, but Jessie managed to find a way and beat me because I was oblivious to looking in one direction ah... For our second game, we decided on Camel Cup Super Up... Until we realised it was an expansion of the original game which we didn't have so we couldn't play it unfortunately... For our third game, we decided on Gravity Maze. The way the game worked was that you were given a card and you had to use the colour stacked cubes to form a route from the start point to the end point in which the marble would travel through the cubes and end up at the end point... We got really confused. We gave up and ended up looking at the solution and finally accomplished it after much confusion, at least it worked!

For our final game of our selection, we played Scrabble. This led to a rather intense game, as we were playing the mini version of the game so there wasn't any of those special pieces which allowed you to have any letter... And if I'm honest I'm sure we broke a couple of rules e.g. Using names of objects/people to make a Scrabble word, or to search up a word to see if it is a real word? Who knows, but I believe I won that round - Jessie was prepared to lose to an English Language student though, even though she was previously an English Literature student herself aha!

We didn't have long left before we had to go so we decided to check out the other side of the cafe, and picked up some Trivia games. One of the Trivia games (which ended up being our last game) involved stacking cups with a piece of Trivia in between each of the rows. We didn't get some of the game at first - You can see we get confused a lot... but eventually we got the hang of it. The concept of the game is similar to Jenga. You would roll the colour dice twice, and then picked between the two colours you rolled. Then, you answer the question. If you answer it correctly, you moved that colour cup to the top from one of the rows, if you answered it incorrectly, you moved two cups to the top. The loser is the one who knocks down the tower first. In the end, I won the Trivia game!

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience at the Draughts cafe. The price for playing the games at the cafe is £5, and then depending if you paid for food and drink that is added to the bill. Personally, I feel like it's an experience worth trying at least once. You get to try some old classics or try out some new games that may look interesting!

After the Draughts cafe, we moved onto to grab some food. Before this day, we'd spent ages deciding between two places in which we wanted to eat. I gave two suggestions and left Jessie to pick between the two - Sorry Jessie... This led her to compare distances of the food places and more. It didn't help that they were pretty much within the same distance from the Draughts Cafe. In the end, I just assigned numbers or letters (I don't even know...) to the food places, and asked my American cousin, Anthony to pick between the two. This is why we ended up at Pump Shoreditch!

What is Pump Shoreditch? Well, let me give you a little background about it. Pump Shoreditch is a well-known street food market located in East London. The reason why it's called Pump Shoreditch is because well for one, it's located in Shoreditch (a bit obvious really) and because the location of the street food market is at a disused petrol station. At Pump Shoreditch, various of vendors sell food from morning, noon and night. The food varies from Japanese, to Turkish, to Mexican to more. Prices also vary, but meals are usually under £10.

There was literally so much to choose from when we were wondering around. I definitely want to try going back again for more food there for sures! In the end, I decided on the Oyako-don (chicken and egg rice bowl) at Nosteagia, whilst Jessie opted for a marinated chicken wrap from Wrapped.

I quite liked the Oyako-don. Priced at £6 for the bowl, it was very filling, and contained all the content of food which I enjoyed. But in a way I found it slightly tedious. It wasn't what I would call, bland? But more I was hoping for some sort of slight change in the meal with the flavour.

On the other hand, my friend Jessie seemed to have a hard time eating her wrap. It looked amazing, but I could see she was struggling to take the foil off her wrap, along with the fact the sauce kept leaking.

After our meals, we decided to split a dessert between us. The bubble waffle at Nosteagia looked in enticing, but we were quite full so decided to share it. We didn't want anything too heavy, so we decided on the strawberry, cream and chocolate sauce bubble waffle. I quite liked the bubble waffle, and Jessie enjoyed it too, despite the cream dripping at the end of the bubble because of the heat.

So last month, on the 11th of June, I decided to attend the K-Lovers Day (whilst I was actually still in exam season), and I'm not gonna lie... I told my parents I wouldn't go to Central London till after exams (my last exam was on the 15th of June) but I was so bored of studying for a month, so I decided to go to the event. To be honest, I saw this event and I thought, this is literally everything that I need in life, and was something I definitely couldn't miss out ahh...

So what exactly is K-Lover's Day all about? Well let me explain to you why I found this event was perfect for me aha, all you have to do is keep reading below!

Here we have the programme for the day. The programme features elements of K-Dramas, K-Food, K-Culture, K-Pop Dance, K-Fashion and Korean Calligraphy!

For me, I've been interested in Korean Culture since I developed my interest in K-Pop. No, I'm no "sasaeng" fan or a "Koreaboo"... But K-Pop allowed me to appreciate the Korean Culture more. Overtime I began attending more events involving Korean Culture and even started working at Korean Culture events such as London Korean Festival and the Kingston Welcomes Korea Festival.

I started being interested in K-Pop around when I was about 13-14 years old, in 2011. My first K-Pop group I became interested in was SNSD otherwise known as Girls' Generation. I remember my cousin introducing me to them, which led to me watching their debut TV show. Also, I remember listening to Wonder Girls' Nobody, which was my second song after "Into The New World" by SNSD. However I took a 2 year gap away from K-Pop, before coming back and becoming interested in SHINee by one of my other cousins. Since then, I've been in the K-Pop fandom back and forth, attending K-Pop Workshops to K-Pop festivals. If anyone was curious, my favourite groups would have to be BTS and DAY6 (but I love all groups to be honest) and my favourite soloist is Ailee!

Another reason which made me want to attend this event was the fact there would be screenings of K-Dramas. In my spare time, I love to watch dramas, and have watched nearly 100 dramas (according to mydramalist). My first drama I watched, was actually a K-Drama (but I didn't even know it was a K-Drama till I searched it up later aha). My mum was the one who actually introduced me to my first K-Drama because we were watching the drama in Vietnamese dub (although I would usually watch English subs nowadays). You're Beautiful was my first drama! For someone who loves music, and has been a big fan of Park Shin Hye ever since, this was one of the most lovable classics, I've watched. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already!

Anyways! Enough about me, let's talk about the overall event experience!

The first part of the programme involved watching two K-Drama screenings. What was really cute was the Pepero snacks which we received for the screening.

Our first screening was for "Another Miss Oh" or otherwise known as "Another Oh Hae Young". At first, I was really confused by the beginning of the drama but as we continued watching, I was captivated by the idea of the drama. The drama is a mixture of comedy, drama, romance as well as features of psychological themes - although these aren't all conveyed in the first episode. After the screening, I found myself going home to watch the rest. Thank you, London Korean Film Club! I've actually recently finished the drama, and personally enjoyed it a lot. In some cases it was very sad, but in some cases I couldn't help but laugh or cringe. I remember for one episode I was literally sitting there cringing and grinning for a whole straight 10 minutes of the beginning of an episode aha!

After a short break for the viewers to take a breather, we proceeded to the second screening. The second screening was for "The Producers" with the famous actor, Kim Soohyun (known for his roles in Dream High and You Who Came From The Stars), along with IU, a famous Korean soloist (you may know of her songs such as "You and I", "Good Day", "The Red Shoes", "Twenty-Three" and "Peach"). The drama gave us an interesting insight on how production teams work and what it was like to be a newly recruited employee of a company. I remembering thinking, poor Soohyun, when certain situations happened and he kept being put to blame despite not being the one who was at fault. With IU, she is playing a role of an idol as well, however she is known as "Cindy". Her role is very different from how she is as an idol in reality, so it's quite an interesting contrast to see her act the way she does for her drama. She plays an idol who aims to get what she wants, and if she doesn't she rebels and argues - as demonstrated in the first episode.

And thus we proceed to the fooooooood!! After two hours of watching Korean dramas, I'm sure we were dying for the Korean buffet which was on offer. Usually I would of taken so many pictures of the food, but because I was so hungry like many others I got carried away eating... I had about 3 plates or so of the buffet, it was so good!!! There was a variety, from Kimbap, to Dumplings, to Japchae, to Korean fried chicken and more! I remember going downstairs where K-Pop music videos were playing and laughing at the K-Pop fans getting very into the music videos, chanting and singing, and I definitely heard some fangirling/fanboying when certain groups came on the big screen.

Had fun with these lot at the K-Lovers Day today 💕 Won a voucher for a meal at Kimchee and got some photos wearing Hanboks ✌🏼And the buffet was great ^^

After the buffet, we proceeded all to sit in the Multi-Purpose Hall and get ready for the showcase. This showcase highlighted different elements, from speeches from one of the 9th K-Pop Academy graduates, Marta Corato, to talks from Diana Chan, the founder of "Inspire Me Korea" as well as our very own MC, Margarita Letitchevski, who talked about the opening of her very own website!

We also had some performances such Hannah Osuntolo (a former 8th K-Pop Academy student/graduate) who sang Yoon Mirae's "Always" from Descendants of the Sun - a popular Korean Drama aired this year, it has an incredibly worldwide influence. As well as, LoKo who performed a Xia remix for us. The co-founder of LoKo, Caroline, was one of the 9th K-Pop Academy graduates. Check out an excerpt of their performance below:

After the performances, we had our raffle event. At the beginning of the day when we entered the Korean Cultural Centre, each of the attendees were given a raffle ticket. I was given the raffle number "30" and I was telling myself "this feels like a lucky number" and you know what, I actually won! But before I tell you what I won, I'll talk about all the prizes available to win! The prizes ranged from K-Drama posters, to a chance to participate on a Korean food TV show. We also had prizes for vouchers such as H-Mart and Kimchee, as well as a chance to win Korean study books, an Inspire Me Korea box, a K-Pop album and more!

I won a Kimchee meal voucher (which I have yet to use) and also received a hug from the Korean Ambassador - he was lovely. I'm really happy to be able to win a free voucher for a meal, considering my love for food. Come on! Who can deny an opportunity for free food right?

One of my friends, Marco, won the "Inspire Me Korea" subscription box. Oh my, he totally gained a lot of attraction on his way up to get the prize. From dabbing, to representing that he was TWICE "trash" with his hand-made, TWICE t-shirt, saying Tzuyu on the back - you can totally tell who his main bias is aha! You can check out the content of his "Inspire Me Korea" subscription box below:

After the showcase, we proceeded onto the final section of the programme. For those who managed to get a place in LoKo's BTS' Fire dance workshop, they went to their workshops. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, I wasn't able to attend the workshop. If you weren't able to attend the workshops, then if you went downstairs, you were able to try out Korean Calligraphy and Hanboks.

Due to the business of the K-Fashion session, we decided to try out the Korean Calligraphy first. I remember writing mostly K-Pop groups in hangul if I'm honest... Aha... The Korean Calligraphy session was interesting. We could work at our own pace and it was something new to try considering we were using ink and a brush to complete it.

Once the K-Fashion session had become less busy, we moved towards the hanboks. It was difficult trying to work out how to put the hanboks on at first but after learning how to do so, it wasn't so bad. I felt rather bare despite having a hanbok on, and due to my height, I was trying so hard not to fall over... Short people struggles... Along with trying on hanboks, we also had a photographer take a picture of us individually or with one another, and receive a print. The prints were cute!

When you try not to trip up whilst wearing a hanbok because the dress is too long for you... Short people struggles...

Overall, I really enjoyed the event. It was such a compact event which showcased different aspects of Korean Culture which I really enjoyed. It was a good chance to see old and new faces again, as well as giving me a chance to let my mind have a break from all the studying. I hope that a similar event like this will occur again soon, as this was a first time event for the Korean Cultural Centre although there have been similar events available.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post! It was quite a long one for today, so I tried to include some photos and a video for you as a reader to enjoy. If you have any recommendations for posts e.g. K-Drama reviews, K-Pop recommendations or anything that you're interested that comes to mind, just comment below! Thanks for reading!

Talk about throwbacks! Just over 3 months ago, I went to celebrate my friend, Marco's 17th birthday. I'm not going to lie, I totally organised majority of his birthday for him aha! Reasons why he named me "Miss Organiser Trash" or something like that...

Anyways, on the 27th of March, we decided to take Marco out on an adventure in London. It was hard trying to find the perfect place to celebrate his birthday, but fortunately I found a great place, with a great view, which was absolutely free!

Guess where?

Answer... You'll have to find out by continuing to read the rest of this post aha!

But before we went off to that great, free place, with a great view, we headed off to Misato! I might of mentioned this place in a previous post - a great Japanese restaurant located in Chinatown, Central London. Big portions, small price (well considering it's Central London anyways aha...)

The birthday boy decided to be a pain in the ass by buying noodles whilst everyone else got rice 😒 - Misato has great portions though 👌

As per usual, Misato never seems to fail me, probably a reason why when I'm broke I'll probably end up in Misato if I'm not at a fast food place like KFC (which is down the road from Misato in Chinatown...)

After our food, we moved onto our final destination! Well... To be honest, before we even went to the destination we sort of arrived a bit early so we decided to chill by the river, and be touristy people. Taking pictures of the views in London as well as many selfies.

Now to reveal the location... As the time approached for our time slot, we entered... Sky Garden!! Sky Garden is located at 20 Fenchurch Street. To be honest, Sky Garden was one of the places I had been meaning to go to for ages! Marco and I both have an interest in photography, so I thought this would be, as you say 'killing two birds with one stone'. It was the first time I had gone to Sky Garden so I personally didn't know what to expect either.

We entered the building, going through security before entering the lift and going all the way up to the 35th floor. As we left the lift, the view just looked amazing. It's basically getting a huge view of London from the air without paying for anything. There's alternative options such as The Shard, which you have to pay to enter and view. The Shard is the tallest building in the UK.

Anyways, we realised there were quite a few staircases to walk up, one on each side. So we decided to go in a cycle motion, walking up one way, higher and higher, before going down another way, lower and lower.

As we approached the next hour, the day slowly grew to the evening, and the light started shining brightly. The colours shown in Sky Garden changed to suit the lighting outside. I was hoping to see a sunset as it was said to appear but due to the dull weather - rainy weather as per usual, thanks England... Thus we were very unfortunate despite picking a time around the time the sunset was due.

I personally liked the contrast in colours between the day and evening. We have blues vs. pinks! I think the one thing I love about London is the view during the dark because the city lights up and it looks amazing - although the city at night isn't particularly safe.

Happy birthday Marco! This post is late, but you know I already said happy birthday to you on your actual birthday aha! I hope you had a great day, and enjoyed what I did organise for you over 3 months ago! It was a fun day out despite the rain, back to being lethargic ehhh....

Anyways! Thank you guys, I hope you enjoyed the post! It was super late, but I definite recommend attending Sky Garden if you have a chance. If the weather is good, they even allow you to go out on the balcony and get an even better view of the city. Also, if you intend to go to Sky Garden, you need to book a reservation which you can do via this website below:
http://skygarden.london/plan-your-visit
Just click "book your free visit" - I suggest that you book a couple of weeks in advance because places go quite quickly as it gets nearer to the date. Another useful tool which is featured on the site, is the tool in the top left corner (desktop version) which allows you to see when the sunrise and sunset is of the current day!

Comment below if you have attended, I would love to hear about your experiences! Thanks for reading guys, I hope to catch up with my posts, I have a lot to catch up on ahhh... I'll get there eventually, but for now, don't forget to tune into the giveaways which are still live, such as my 1 year blog anniversary giveaway, which you can check out below:

What can I say? I have an exclusive giveaway for you guys only for these next 48 hours! Sorry for my absence, I've had a few issues with my blog recently and considering the circumstances I've been going through along with being away in another country these past few days, I haven't had a chance to update as much as I had originally hoped.

Some of you may know, that last February I worked with HISTORY, and this September I'm fortunate enough to be able to work with MYNAME as well! Because of my collaboration with Arpeggios Entertainment, I will be giving away a pair of tickets for the MYNAME concert in London on the 10th of September! The overall value of these tickets are £62! So you'll be saving money and as a fan I'm sure you would love to see your favourite group on stage!

So what do you have to do? It's simple, just complete the form below for the giveaway. For this giveaway, I would suggest looking into additional entries such as an Instagram or Twitter follow which is shown after you've completed the main details of the giveaway. This is to give yourself the best chance to win the pair of tickets! Also, I suggest that if you're not interested in the group that you let others have a chance to win the tickets. The tickets are not re-sellable or exchangeable.

The giveaway is only for a limited time only. Beginning from Sunday, the giveaway will end at 23:59 on Monday the 4th of July. The winner will be announced on Tuesday the 5th of July, and the winner will be contacted within the 24 hours in which the draw closed.

Don't forget to check out Arpeggios Entertainment at the website and many social media links below!
