Introducing My Blog

So, I thought that since this is a personal blog of mine, I would talk a bit about my blog and maybe a bit about myself too.

I think the main thing I want to talk about first is the reason I started my blog. I begun my blog due to an idea which my College Magazine teacher brought up in class. We were sitting in our complementary class, and the teacher brought to light the idea of starting our own blogs to build ourselves a network and a portfolio. This was due to the success of one of her former students. They had created a blog for themselves and at the moment are currently pretty successful. Since secondary school, I've always wanted to be a journalist, but now I'm not so sure... The idea of being a journalist seems incredibly stressful and although I've adapted to having deadlines, I wouldn't know what to expect with constant deadlines as a career. Anyways, I thought "Why don't I start blogging about stuff which I'm interested in?" When I was in the college magazine, I was specialising in events, so I contacted events in hopes to receive press passes for myself (and I did end up receiving them in the end). After these events I would write a review of the event I attended. It was a worthwhile experience and I've gained a lot of skills from the college magazine, which led me to blog independently.

My blog currently revolves around events due to my love with travelling. Because of this I aim to take every opportunity I can to attend events and travel to various places especially to those I've never been to before. Because in the end, every little memory should be something to cherish. Also, I'm interested in photography so I try to incorporate a lot of my own photography into my blog posts. I'm lucky to be equipped with my very own camera, the Canon EOS 700D - Thank you, mum and dad! Hopefully overtime, I will be able to develop my photography skills. I've also had a chance to promote others I have met, as a lot of people have helped me make my blog the way it is, and I'm especially proud of how far I've come over these past months since I started my blog in June 2015.

In the future, I hope to extend my travels to around the world and not only in the UK. It would be a dream for me to be able to cover events internationally. If my blog was to become known to many people across the world, I would honestly be astounded at my achievement, but for now I'm just focusing on the present, aiming to succeed in my education and continuing to blog to my heart's content about the things I love - That sounded incredibly cliché of me aha.

I think I should say a few things about myself to end it. I was born in London, United Kingdom, but my ethnic origin is Vietnamese and Chinese. Both my parents were born in Vietnam, despite my mother being fully Chinese, and my dad being three quarters Vietnamese and a quarter Chinese. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to study any Chinese language such as Cantonese or Mandarin, and I would say my Vietnamese is also lacking. As I grew up, I picked up a few languages but I can't say they remained with which use... From French, to Spanish, I can honestly say that English will always be my best language despite it technically being my second language. I've also picked up Japanese and Korean words from watching dramas and anime, but being brought up from an Asian background with many cultural influences, I've always had an interest in Asian culture. Because of this, I hope to travel to many Asian countries and possibly live in Asia when I grow up. With many Asian countries such as Japan, having so many networks and constantly advancing in technology, it would be the best place to stay connected with events and news, especially if I hope to have a career in the Media industry.

Thank you for reading this, I understand it's a "bit" long-winded, but it does say a lot about my blog, I hope I can continue to bring interesting blog posts for my readers with my own unique style.
